  • Where is Clara's House
    Clara's House is located on the 2nd floor of Pioneer Congregational Church on L Street. We are in the section of the building behind the courtyard to the right of the chapel. Please ring the doorbell to the right of the front door to be let in. Our address is 2700 L Street, Sacramento, CA 95816. See directions here.
  • Where can I park?
    Metered street parking is available out front on L Street and nearby side streets. Meters are $1.75/hour and take coins or credit cards. Free 2-hour street parking is available on N Street; 27th or 26th Street between K and J Streets; near 25th and L street; and on 25th, 26th, and 27th, between N and O Streets. Free 4-hour parking is available on 28th Street between J and I Street, near James Marshall Park. Free 6-hour parking is available on 25th and N Street, near the School of the Sacramento Ballet.
  • What are your hours?
    Open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Lobby Closed 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM Closed Saturday & Sunday
  • How do I become a patient?
    To become a patient you must have a referral from one of our partner agencies. Please contact one of our partner agencies if you wish to become a patient. We do not take walk-ins. And we do not offer urgent care. We make hour-long appointments to stay in touch with our patients' overall health over time. Please note that the process to become a patient takes time. It could take several weeks to have your first appointment. If you need care sooner please seek an urgent care clinic. If this is an emergency please call 911 or go to the Emergency Room. ​ If you have a life-threatening problem, such as lung cancer, give us a call at 916-448-3976 and we will try to expedite your patient application process.

  • Who can be a patient?
    We provide free medical services in a culturally sensitive manner to people who: Need medical services Have no insurance Lack money to pay for services Do not know about existing services Are unable to use existing services We do not take Medi-Cal, Medicare, or other insurance. If you have Medi-Cal you may be able to receive services through Sacramento County. To become a patient you must have a referral from one of our partner agencies. Please note that the process to become a patient takes time. It could take several weeks to have your first appointment. We do not take walk-ins. And we do not offer urgent care.
  • How much does it cost?
    There is no cost for appointments.
  • How do I make an appointment?
    All initial appointments are made by referral through one of our partner agencies. Please contact one of our partner agencies if you wish to make an appointment. Please note that the process to become a patient and get your first appointment can take several weeks. If you are in need of immediate care please go the Emergency Room or an urgent care clinic. Follow-up appointments are made at the clinic. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment call us as soon as possible at 916.448.3976.
  • What do I need to bring to my appointment?
    If you are a new patient: Please be 30 minutes early Please note appointments are 1 hour. If you are a returning patient please bring the following to your appointment: All of your medication bottles Glucometer if diabetic Peak flow meter if you use one If you are not able to attend your appointment, call us as soon as possible to cancel or reschedule at 916.448.3976.
  • What languages do you provide services in?
    We provide nearly all services in English or Spanish. Spanish-speaking translators are available for the small number of services provided in English.
